‘Deadbeat’ dad claims against CJ Maraga elicit mixed reactions among Kenyans

Allegations by a woman named Mary Kwamboka that she had a child with CJ Maraga out of wedlock have elicited mixed reactions among Kenyans on Twitter, with some saying that the entire saga had been stage-managed to taint Maraga’s name and coerce him to resign.

1. If CJ David Maraga is the father, then he should pay child support.

2. If Mary Kwamboka is lying, then CJ Maraga should sue her for defamation.

3. The case is a personal matter. It has nothing to do with Maraga’s function as Chief Justice.

Many called out the lady for attemping to tarnish the name of the CJ, terming the documents she presented as proof of their relationship as fake.

The allegations come at the height of an unprecedented tussle between the Executive and the Judiciary, with the President of the Supreme Court accusing the Head of State of frustrating the Judiciary.
