The Textbook Centre Kijabe Street Headquarters as well as their Kijabe Street branch has been closed down, after a staff member tested positive for Coronavirus.
According to reports, the member of staff has been taken into isolation and is receiving treatment.
In a statement to newsrooms the top book seller in the country noted that the branch will remain closed from Friday July 3, to Monday July 6 to allow for thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the premises to curb more spread of the virus.
The organization also stated that they have commenced the process of screening of all the members of staff at their headquarters for the disease and are also offering counseling and necessary psychological support to the staff.
According to the Ministry of Health recent data, coronavirus cases have continued to soar with the ministry urging Kenyans and organizations to follow the laid down containment guidelines to curb the spread of the virus.
The Ministry on Thursday July 2 reported 268 new cases raising the total tally of confirmed cases in the country to 6,941.
