Raila Odinga denies holding night meeting with embattled Governor Anne Waiguru

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has denied reports that he met with Governor Anne Waiguru yesterday evening. Mr. Odinga has reiterated that he routinely updates the public on any meetings held with politicians and if he had met with Waiguru the public would be aware. The allegation was published as the main news headline complete with an accompanying story on Pg.7 of the Sunday Nation.

The allegations come at a time when the Opposition Chief has been meeting politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto at his Capitol Hill Office. On Tuesday, he held talks with Laikipia Women Rep Catherine Waruguru at his office in a meeting that sparked speculations as to whether Waruguru has jumped ship into Raila’s camp.

Other leaders perceived to be allies to the DP, including Coast politicians Gideon Mingaro and Suleiman Shahbal have also held talks with the former PM Raila Odinga where it is alleged that they denounced Tangatanga and pledged loyalty to the President and their unwavering support for the BBI process.
