Police officer among 5 nabbed by DCI in Busia trying to steal Kshs 28.5 million from KCB Bank.

Five suspects including a police officer have been arrested by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI.

The suspects were arrested on Saturday July 4 in Busia town and Ahero (Kisumu County) after an attempt to withdraw Kshs 28.5M from an account held at KCB Bank-Busia town branch backfired.

Kinoti also stated that upon interrogations, two other suspects; Police Constable Kipkirui Tanui attached at Wilson Airport & Alex Kimeli an alleged businessman in Nairobi who had been waiting in a getaway car outside the banking hall were pursued & caught up with in Ahero.

The five are in custody as further investigations are ongoing.

Earlier Saturday DCI had nabbed a 48 year old David Migosi in Matunda, who was the suspected mastermind behind a car theft syndicate in the North and South Rift.
