MP Oscar Sudi declines appointment to serve in a parliamentary committee.

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has on Friday July 17 declined to take up an appointment to serve in the Powers and Privileges Committee of the National Assembly.

Sudi who was speaking during a funeral at Kebenes in Soy Constituency, stated that he was not interested in serving in any of the parliamentary committees under the Jubilee Administration

“I have seen I have been appointed to serve in a committee. I ask that you remove me because I have no desire to serve in any capacity under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta. We are not beggars, we are the ones who formed the government but it is being driven by corrupt thugs and selfish individuals,” Sudi stated.

Sudi further poked fun at a report by Mzalendo Trust, which had earlier revealed he had not made any contribution at the floor of the house since 2017.

“I have never spoken in Parliament and neither has Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and yet he is the one who they want to make president in 2022, I will also declare my interest in running for the presidential seat in 2022 because I think I am a lot better than Gideon Moi,” Sudi stated amid laughter from the crowd.

According to a Parliamentary Scorecard released by Mzalendo Trust, a Parliamentary Monitoring Organization (PMO), Sudi and his Nakuru Town West counterpart Samuel Arama have made zero contributions in the National Assembly since 2017.
