Migori MCAs trade barbs over Governor Obado’s ouster

There was drama at the Migori County Assembly on Wednesday September 23, with MCAs trading barbs after differences emerged over the impending impeachment motion of Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

A video in our possession shows several MCAs roughing up each other as they shouted inside the assembly while others tried to separate the warring parties after Obado’s ouster motion was tabled.

Unverified Reports allege that Nominated MCA Mary Ogodo broke her arm during the scuffle with further reports intimating that hired goons interrupted the meeting after a pro-ODM Deputy Speaker was reinstated by the courts.

Governor Obado had on Tuesday Spetember 22, stated that the ODM Party had a plan in place to interrupt the vpoting process at the Assembly by using the police to cause chaos and tamper with the votes to have him impeached.

“The senator met MCAs and fake party delegates to discuss my ouster. If due process is followed, the impeachment motion will be dead on arrival,” Obado stated.

He also added that ODM further planned to remove the County Speaker Boaz Okoth from office if the impeachment motion stalled for a third time in three weeks.
