Former Kirinyaga Gubernatorial Aspirant and Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua, has weighed on the Waiguru’s impeachment saga following her acquittal by Senate Friday June 26.
The acquittal of Kirinyaga Governor Anne waiguru received mixed reactions from different quarters, with Martha Karua taking to social media to applaud the efforts by the Kirinyaga MCAs in their attempt to dethrone the governor.
Karua stated that they raised the accountability bar high.
“Congrats Kirinyaga County Assembly, you raised the bar of accountability high by doing what the constitution and the laws mandate you to do,” read part of her tweet.
Karua also urged the Kirinyaga Members of County Assembly to continue safeguarding the interests of residents in the county.
“Keep your eyes on the ball and safe guard the interests of the people of Kirinyaga County”, the tweet conluded.

The Kirinyaga County Assembly had on Tuesday June, 9 voted to impeach Governor Anne Waiguru for violation of the Constitution, abuse of office and gross misconduct, but she was however cleared on Friday, June 27 after the 11- member Senate committee led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, found that two charges against the governor were not substantiated.
