President Uhuru Kenyatta has on Monday, 20th July 2020, conferred the rank of Senior Counsel to 24 advocates of the High Court, including Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Narc Kenya Leader Martha Karua.
The others include: OM Parkash Nagpal, Fackson Wainaina Kagwe (dr), Pravin Kumar Bowry, Charles Waweru Gatonye, Rautta Athiambo, Fredrick Ngatia, Mohamed Nyaoga, Phillip Murgor, Albert Mumma, Beautah Alukhava, Kiragu Kimani, Judy Thogori, Talib Ali Talib, Wilfred Nderitu, Zehrabanu Janmohamed, John M Ohaga, Kioko Kilukumi, Patricia Mande Nyaundi, Dorcas Agik, Abdikadir Hussein Mohamed, Paul Otiende Amollo and John Mugwimi Chigiti.
The 24 advocates join the dignified club of senior lawyers who are added to the roll of Senior Counsel in accordance with the Advocates Act. The country now has 48 Senior Counsels including the newly conferred.
President Kenyatta congratulated the 24 advocates and indicated that their contribution to law and development have secured their place at the apex of their profession. He said that the date for the conferment ceremony shall be scheduled and communicated in due course.
