Deputy President William Ruto has launched a weekly campaign aimed at giving support to small micro enterprises run by youth & women in a bid to get them back on their feet. DP Ruto began the campaign in style by presenting an assortment of items including car washing machines, motor cycles, water tanks and animal feed to 30 youth and women groups from Dagoreti South, Embakasi North and Embakasi West Consituencies.
The youth and women who met the DP in Karen, thanked him for his contribution and lauded his efforts to support youth-owned enterprises during the Coronavirus pandemic.
DP Ruto reiterated that SMEs owned by the youth and women have been greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and that the revival of the sector is fundamental to the economic recovery of the country. The DP noted that the government had set up plans including a stimulus package to ensure that young people were cushioned from the effects of the Coronavirus disease.
