Three police officers accused of tying down a lady on a motorbike and dragging her on a dirt road, as they continually whipped her have been arrested.
The officers, who included a Deputy OCS from Olenguruone Police Station in Kuresoi South Nakuru County, were arrested by detectives after the video from the incident went viral on social media, prompting Kenyans on Social media to question the conduct of the police force which has been under sharp scrutiny following cases of police brutality meted on Kenyans.
According to the woman who has only been identified as Mercy Cherono 21, she was subjected to the inhuman and violent acts, after a police officer accused her of stealing a gas cylinder, a TV set and clothes.
The arrests comes a day after the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) through the chairperson Ann Makori stated that they had launched investigations into the incident with a view of establishing any misconduct by the officers in the said video.
