The Ministry of Health has confirmed that 447 more people have tested positive for the Coronavirus disease in Kenya. The 447 were confirmed out of a sample of 3,803. The total caseload now stands at 8,975. This caseload is a fraction of a sample of 200,311.
Out of the 447, 280 are male while 167 are female. The youngest is a one year old infant while the oldest is an 88-year old.
64 patients have also been discharged from hospital today.
Speaking in Mombasa County on an official tour, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe raised concerns over the increasing number of infants testing positive for the disease, and urged mothers to young children to adhere to government directives, wear masks and also discourage visitors.
He reassured Kenyans that the statistics should not cause worry, but should make the people more vigilant.
