The total confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country have hit the 6000 mark.
This is after the Ministry of Health reported an additional 259 new cases on Sunday June 28, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 6,070.
During the daily Ministry of Health Covid-19 status update delivered by Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, 35 patients have have been discharged from various facilities after recovering successfully, raising the number of recoveries to 1,971.
Unfortunately 2 people succumbed to the disease, with the number of fatalities now standing at 143.
Dr. Mwangangi also reported that Lamu County has confirmed Covid-19 cases, bringing to 41 the number of counties that have now reported the disease.
And below is how the new cases have been distributed at the Counties level;
The 259 positive cases are distributed in counties of Nairobi, 127 cases, Mombasa, 39, Kiambu, 22, Machakos, 16, Busia 11, Makueni, (9), Nakuru, (9), Uasin Gishu, (9), Kilifi, (5), Kajiado, (3), Kisumu, (2), Lamu, (2) Garissa (2), Marsabit, (2), & Kwale, (1) case. #KomeshaCorona
