Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi has on Friday announced 580 more Covid-19 cases in the country from a sample of 5,458 tested in the last 24 hours. The latest cases subsequently raise the caseload to 29,334. Dr. Mwangangi made the announcement during the daily briefing on Coronavirus in the country. She also said that the cumulative number of tests done so far is 381,317.
From the new cases, 530 are Kenyan, while 50 are foreigners. The youngest is a one-year old infant while the oldest is a 92-year-old. 336 were male while 244 were female.
In the same period, the Health Ministry reported 198 more recoveries, 119 of whom were in home-based care while the rest had been admitted at various hospitals. The total number of recoveries so far stands at 15,298.
However, 5 more people succumbed to the disease within the same period, raising the number of fatalities to 465.
