Kenya has on Saturday August 15 recorded an additional 515 new Covid-19 cases to raise the total case load in the country to 29,849.
According to Health CAS Dr. Mercy Mwangangi during the daily Covid-19 status briefing, 672 patients have been discharged from various facilities and including the home based care program after recovering from the disease raising the number of recoveries to 15,970.
Unfortunately 7 more people succumbed to the disease, raising the total number of fatalities in the country to 472.
Mwangnagi has also urged Kenyans to continue seeking treatment from health facilities insisting that the facilities continue to offer other aspects of healthcare apart from COVID-19 care.
“Essential and lifesaving surgeries are still ongoing. For cases of emergencies, it is expected that care will be provided without a COVID-19 test”, Mwangangi stated.
