COVID-19 UPDATE: 307 New cases;Kenya records highest number of infections in single day.

Kenya has on Wednesday July 1 recorded the highest number of covid-19 infections in a single day, since the pandemic set-in in the country in March 2020.

A total of 307 new covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, raiosng the total number of cases in the country to 6,673.

According to Health CAS Rashid Aman during the daily Covid-19 status update, 50 more people have been discharged from various facilities after recovery, raising the number of recoveries to 2,089.

Unfortunately Aman reported the death of 1 person who succumbed to the disease, with the total fatalities now at 149.

The distribution of the latest cases across the various counties was as follows; Nairobi  154, Mombasa 38, Machakos 33, Kiambu 20, Narok 20, Kajiado 17, Busia 10, Kericho 4, Makueni 5, Nakuru 5, Kilifi 1, Kisumu 1, Kitui 1, and Uasin Gishu 1.

Aman has urged Kenyans to continue observing the setout Corona virus containment guidelines as the cases in the country continue to soar.

He also wants Kenyans to take personal responsibility in the fight against Covid-19
