The country’s death toll has now risen to 253 after 4 people succumbed to the Coronavirus disease in the last 24 hours.
A further 418 people also tested positive for the virus out of a sample of 2,474 within the last 24 hours. The case load now stands at 13,771. 494 patients have recovered from the disease, including 465 who had been placed under home-based care. This brings the total number of recoveries to 5,616.
Dr. Aman indicated that the virus had spread in all counties except Baringo, West Pokot and Samburu. He also indicated that Nairobi and Mombasa had the highest Covid-19 attack rates at 176.1 and 151.9 per 100,000 people respectively.
The CAS expressed concerns that there were establishments which were circumventing their license terms to do bar business.
