The Ministry of Health has on Monday June 29 reported an additional 120 new Covid-19 cases in the country raising the total tally of confirmed cases to 6,190.
During the daily Ministry of Health Covid-19 status update delivered by Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman, 42 patients have been discharged from various facilities after recovering successfully, raising the number of recoveries to 2,103.
Unfortunately 1 person succumbed to the disease, with the number of fatalities now standing at 144.
Below is how the cases have been distributed at the counties level:
The new cases are distributed in the counties of Nairobi 67, Mombasa 17, Kajiado 9, Machakos 9, Kiambu 8, Uasin Gishu 4, Nakuru 2, Kilifi, 2, and Narok 2. #KomeshaCorona update.

The Ministry of Health also received donations of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) from theĀ United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) to be distributed to various counties.
Aman also disclosed that Kenyan scientists had joined their global counterparts in undertaking research on various aspects of the pandemic.
“Here in Kenya our scientists and health professionals have also been working to enhance the knowledge of the virus in our local context,” he stated.
He noted that on its part, the Ministry was scientifically tracking Covid-19 cases across the country to inform management and prevention protocols.
