Chania Boys Principal collapses and dies.

Chania Boys High School Principal has on Friday July 24 collapsed and died during an ongoing meeting at the school.

Confirming the incident, Thika Sub-County police boss Bearice Kiraguri stated that the principal died shortly after complaining of breathing difficulties.

“I was called from my house by the bursar. I found the deceased inside his car. I drove him to Thika hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival”, Simon Wahome, the school’s deputy principal stated.

Wahome further disclosed that the deceased had arrived at the school at around 8:30am and held a two-hour meeting with board members and a contractor on the construction of the new dormitory at the school.

On his part, Thika High School Principal and the Thika West Heads Association chairman Julius Muraya indicated that the late principal had been hospitalized at the Aga Khan Hospital three years ago when he suffered a heart attack and had been on medication.

“The deceased was not only a colleague but a close family friend, I am deeply saddened by his death,” he said.

He added that the deceased previously served in the same position at Kirogo Boys in Murang’a County but had been transferred in order to manage his health.

In the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic, similar cases of people collapsing and dying mysteriously have been reported, with the recent being one week ago where a woman collapsed and died when doing her laundry at her home in Mlolongo.

Neighbors indicated that the woman’s six-year-old son started screaming and calling on neighbors when he noticed that his mother had fallen down.
