Sensational blogger Edgar Obare has on Monday been arraigned at Kiambu law courts following his arrest last week. Obare was arrested on Friday in Kisumu and was taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters for interrogation, before being detained at Gigiri police station over the weekend. Appearing before the court on Monday, the blogger was charged with unlawful disclosure of personal data contrary to section 72 (3) (b) as read with section 73 of the Data Protection Act No.24 of 2019. The complainant of the case is Natalie Wanjiru popularly known as Natalie Tewa. Obare pleaded not guilty to the offence and awaits bail hearing at 2pm.
