4 robbery suspects who raped woman and forced children to watch arrested by DCI.

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal investigations DCI have on Monday July 6th arrested four robbery with violence suspects in Nakuru County.

The four are part of a gang of five who on the night of 3rd July had robbed a family of cash & household items and in the process raped the woman of the house in turns after assaulting her husband at Rumwe village in Njoro-Nakuru County.

During the operation triggered by a tip-off through Nyumba Kumi to detectives, 26-yr-old William Kihara Ndegwa, David Ng’ang’a Ngure (22yrs), Eliud Njoroge (36yrs) and 36-yr-old Geoffrey Mwangi were nabbed within the village.

The first suspect William Kihara had already been subjected to mob injustice before officers rescued him from the irate members of the public and took him to hospital under guard.

According to the DCI the gang which was armed with crude weapons broke into the victims’ house in the middle of the night, ransacked it and stole cash Kshs. 34,000, a D-light solar panel, gas cooker, a mountain bike, and mobile phones among other electronics.

“Having assaulted the man of the house and tying him up, the gang then forced the children to witness the animus felony as two of them repeatedly raped their mother, before slaughtering one hen, preparing it & eating it right in the same house”, a tweet from the DCI stated.

They four are in lawful custody pending arraignment as manhunt for the fifth suspect continues.
