Thirty five minors were on Friday July 3 evening arrested, after they were found engaging in sexual activities in a house at Sango Estate Homa Bay County.
The minors aged between 13 and 17 included 20 girls and 15 boys.
According to area Chief Bob Lango, some of the minors were found dancing naked to loud music, with used condoms also found in the room.
“Inside the room, there were already used condoms. We believe some of the minors were engaging in sex… Some of the minors were dressing up when we got to the house. They had turned the house into a brothel”, Lango explained.
Area Police Boss Sammy Koskey stated that they recovered rolls of bhang, used condoms and different brands of alcoholic drinks in the room where the minors were arrested.
Police also arrested the owner of the house Patrick Ayieko and are expected to summon parents of the minors to the police station for questioning on Monday July 6.
“We’re likely to charge them with abdication of duties as parents,” Koskey said.
